Ruby's decision to become an idol is both tribute and denial. By recreating Ai's career, she keeps her mother's memory alive but also avoids confronting the reality of Ai's suffering. Ruby sees only the spotlight, not the shadows that killed her mother.
Her arc becomes dangerous when she begins to idealize the very industry that destroyed Ai. Ruby's innocence, carried over from her previous life as a sheltered patient, makes her vulnerable to the same exploitation patterns.
